About

Oizys - Chronicles of Miss Miseria

The author: random, faceless, and languorous, with an uncomfortable home and confusing disposition, seemed to stitch some of the unasked emotions of existence; and had lived nearly twenty-one years in this blathering world with too much distress and pique her.

Experience

Twenty-four years of questionable existence fighting with this highly deserving corporeal flesh.

Real About Me

Welcome. I'm Oizys, the voice(?) behind these words. Perhaps you're wondering who I am. The truth is, labels and names don't feel quite right. What matters is the shared experience, the connection we find in the shadows and the struggles we face.

For a long time, I felt like I was living a life scripted by someone else – a role I didn't choose. I saw the patterns repeating, the echoes of the past reverberating in the present. The weight of those expectations, the pressure to conform, often felt suffocating. I know how it feels to scream on the inside while keeping a composed face to the world.

I began writing as a way to untangle the knots in my own mind, to give voice to the things that felt too heavy to carry in silence. This blog is a space to explore the complexities of family, the impact of societal expectations, and the search for individual freedom. It's about the intergenerational loops we find ourselves in, the ways we're shaped by those who came before us, and the battles we face in trying to break free.

If you've ever felt trapped in a cycle, struggled to define yourself outside of your roles, or grappled with the unspoken tensions within your family, you're not alone. This blog is for you. It's for anyone who's searching for a way to heal, to find their voice, and to reclaim their own story.

What I hope you will find here is a space where you feel seen, heard, and understood. A community to share our own stories. I am here to support. If you feel comfortable, feel free to leave a comment or send me a message.

Let's explore the faultlines together.

A Bit About "Oizys"

Oizys is the Greek Goddess of misery and suffering. In the Greek mythology, she is the personification of misery, woe, anxiety, pain, distress and suffering. In Hesoid's Theogony, Oizys was produced by Nyx (Greek Goddess of the night) fatherlessly. She has a twin sister called Momus who is the personification of mockery. Cicero refers to Oizys by her Latin alternative, “Miseria.” In the video game Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey (2018), Oizys is the eponymous figure in the Forest of Oizys where the spirits of those who died by suicide were kept. It was inspired by Dante's Divine Comedy's "Wood of the Suicides".

Here is a mundane writing about her: How Oizys, Greek Goddess of Misery, Spends Her Sundays

[P.S.: I appreciate your curiosity about who I am. While I prefer to remain anonymous for now, I'm happy to share and even personally exchange my thoughts and experiences through my writing.]
